Sourcing Process

Sourcing Process

ORIGINAL, PURE, RAW.

Just How The Bees Make It.

Our main sourcing locations are in the Northern belt of India – Kashmir, Jammu, Himachal, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan.

At Beelicious, sourcing isn’t a department. It’s a philosophy. We procure fresh, seasonal honey directly from the field, only after careful sampling and on-site testing. Our sourcing team — which includes us, the founders — carries portable, imported test kits into the field to check key quality parameters right where the honey is harvested. No assumptions. No shortcuts. Over time, we’ve trained our beekeepers in better beekeeping and extraction practices, and equipped them with improved tools and systems. The result? Honey that consistently meets international quality benchmarks, without compromising its natural character.

We believe in traditional beekeeping and ethical harvesting. We therefore collect raw honey from our bee-boxes in the classic basic style. Our expert methods of selection and collection are built on years of practice, experience and passion. We practice what we call, balanced beekeeping. This means we interfere as little with the bees as possible, ensuring a peaceful and natural environment. Our locations are selected based on abundant availability of nectar and pollen for our bees. Both of which are required to keep the colonies healthy and strong. We carefully plan our collection activity to ensure minimal impact on the environment.

When our bees say it’s ready; we listen. Natural honey is collected only after the bees cap and seal the honeycomb with beeswax. This is nature’s way of saying the honey is mature. Capped honey means: Fuller, richer flavour Stable moisture content Nutrients and enzymes intact We then cold-extract the honey using hand-operated or electric centrifuges, never heat-based methods. Each batch is packed into new, food-grade drums, coded for full traceability, and transported to our facility.

Trace Your Honey

As a genuine product of nature, honey is never homogeneous. Even honeys from the same region differ from one harvest to the next. These differences may be owing to factors such as weather or changes in the blooming periods of plants; the soil, etc.; That’s why the taste, colour, aroma, and texture of honey naturally vary across seasons. If your honey looks, smells, and tastes exactly the same every time — that’s not consistency; that’s processing.

Filtration Process

Filtration Process

Honey processing is and remains a craft activity – regardless of the volumes we handle. We pass the honey through some stages of filtration and reduce its moisture content so that our consumers can enjoy honey that is thick, dense and full-bodied in taste.

The entire process is contactless, inline and carried out at only 40°C, ensuring that enzymes and nutrients are not destroyed due to overheating or incorrect processing practices. Our filters allow pollen to remain in the honey, preserving its natural character. Pollen adds depth, nutrition, and authenticity. That natural cloudiness — called turbidity — is a sign of integrity. Crystal-clear honey? That usually means the pollen has been stripped away. We Do Less. On Purpose. Most commercial honey is pasteurised — heated aggressively to kill yeast, standardise texture, brighten colour, and delay crystallisation. Unfortunately, pasteurisation also strips honey of its vitality, leaving behind little more than sweetness. At Beelicious, we don’t believe in that. Our honey is: Not pasteurised Not overheated Not adulterated Not stripped of its natural goodness By doing less, we protect the honey’s velvety texture, rich flavour, and nutritional depth exactly as the bees intended.

Once filtered, Beelicious honey is bottled, sealed, labelled, coded and boxed for shipment. The final stage is to deliver and share the Beelicious experience with you.

To enable our honey to retain its optimal characteristics, at Beelicious — we do LESS. Our minimalistic approach protects the honey, allowing its velvety texture, nutrients and rich taste to be retained and relished.
